Just To Be Clear

Your second video project can be either a re-edit/shoot of your first one or a different one, entirely. If you choose to re-edit/shoot, your second video needs to be at least 20% different from your first video. This means, for a 120-second video, you would need at least 24 seconds of new material. For finals week, I will be in our classroom at our usual meeting time, to offer any help you might need. The final is due by midnight on 12/13/12. There will be no extensions for this deadline. Have fun. Test embed:

For Those of You Who Missed Class Today

We talked about pacing and montage.

If you watch Hot Fuzz and tell me which scene is a montage, and why translation is used in the film, I will give you a bonus point.

Also, you might want to watch this for tips about pacing.

Shoot Day on Tuesday

Due to circumstances outside of my control, I won't be able to be in class on Tuesday. It is still a shoot day for you all and I hope you take advantage of it. If you run into trouble, email me with your phone number and I will call you back and try to help.

See you all Thursday.

This is the rose, processed with levels, curves, and resized to 800 pixels wide.

Turning in Video

I usually recommend uploading videos to Vimeo or  YouTube, then linking to them in a blog post. Blogger does have the ability to accept directly-uploaded video, but you definitely want to test it out before you rely on it.

More info on blogger's video hosting is here.

If you have good or bad experiences using any of these three options, let us all know in the comments section of this post (for extra credit, of course).

From Now On

In class, I want you to either bring some project files to work with or a camera to shoot video.

Have a nice spring break. See you afterwards.
